Btw, Buddhism is not deemed a religion cos there is no God or creator. It is a way of life.
One of the six realms taught in Buddhism is the god realm.
A way of life is about traditions and customs that we refer to for our life in this world.. When it touches on life beyond the one in this world, that's religion. Buddhism isn't so simple as trying to exterminate desires to eliminate suffering. It is a religion any which way you want to see it.

You've mistaken paying respect for "praying". True Buddhists will know that there's nothing to pray to, since we know that he can't change our karma anyway. So praying is really a wrong word to use, if it means that I must either thank him for everything, or ask him for favour.

No, you dun get it. He's not a god and I dun treat him as one. He can have power and he could help you, but it is only delaying your karma to the future. We believe that we reap what we sow, so we accept our punishments. If he can help you cancel your karma, then he will do it for everyone, and there will be no trouble in this world. He said he'd been to Israel and the Bible is a compilation of cave carvings.
Given the bible's thickness it would take more man years to interpret those carvings and translate them to Hebrew or Aramaic or Greek than to find out how much Singapore's reserves are.
Considering that somehow the compilation of those cave carvings was completed in record time, it has to be a miracle no less.
