China will not give up on zero-tolerance Covid policy - debono - 03-11-2021
Despite strain put on leisure and tourism sectors, 'letting the virus spread costs more;, says expert.
China will not give up on its zero-tolerance policy towards local Covid-19 cases any time soon, experts said, as the policy has allowed it to quickly quell local outbreaks, while the virus continues to spread outside its borders.
To stop local cases from turning into wider outbreaks, China has developed and continually refined its Covid-fighting arsenal - including mass testing, targeted lockdowns and travel restrictions - even when those measures occasionally disrupted local economies....

Damage to economy is limited as they do very fast testing,
furthermore they can release the whole area back to near normal life,
mask down in out door is possible.
It is all depend on the approaches.

in Spore we used to trace the clusters and then there are too many and too many unlinked cases, simply give up?

Sweep out most hidden cases.
Number of cases may rocket up but subside to two digits within a month.

Not only CCP, DPP in Taiwan is also practising Zero tolerance strategy just that the test rate is really low, 200k tests per million vs Spore’s 3 million plus tests per million, no test means no case, no wonder everyday has zero case in Taiwan.
