Eating out ( with the exception of restaurants ) is still relatively cheap in S'pore so a lot of us do not cook at home as much as people in other developed nations.

As Kidney failure is a progressive disease one should check your kidney function every year to see if kidney js deteriorating.

To make your kidney last longer conyrol your diet to minimise sugar to prevent diabetes and salt to prevent hypertension.

It is more important to avoid getting diabetes. The reason is once yoh get diabetes your kidney start to decline and little yoh can do about it.

However if you get hypertension, you can take medicine to keep it jnder control. Once under control your kidney will not suffer further damage from high blood pressure. The most stupid thing people who get hyper tension to do is to delay going on medication and try to bring down blood pressure through other means. Even if you eventually bring down your blood pressure the damage to your kidneys is permanent. So the moment you get high blood pressure most important thibg tk do is take the medication to put it under control immediately. Other things you can try in parallel.
