After seeing what they did...it is a gimmick....let me explain.
They planted electrode in the poor fellers brain...the electrode will be up certain electrical signal and translate to actions carried out by electrical devices.
There is nothing new in this....such electrodes have been around for decades. There is high risk of brain infection killing the patient who is used to hype up the company.
A similar thing was done for paralysed patients to "enable" them to walk by implanting electrode to the spine and connecting to muscle on the leg. This was done in a university called MIT. The subject later sued the university because electrodes they left behind caused infection and the whole thing is just a gimmick.m that was impractical. This technology was revived later with improved implants
Elon Musk just copy this idea and repackaged it.
