So rich can live in private properties and have maids

Actually with owner occupation concession it’s still ok for most owners. If left vacant or rented out, the taxes are very high

There are many retirees who bought landed homes back in the 1960s and 70s which they have grown emotionally attached to. Many of these houses are situated deep inside private estates that are not easy to sell or rent. Without any income, these seniors have trouble paying their property tax as well as the cost of maintaining these properties. HDB dwellers suffering from a bad case of sour grapes are unlikely to understand the plight of these elderly land owners.

Rich people all have cars and happy to buy these houses inside

that gives them so much privacy

I have seen many old bungalows torn down and rich people

can afford $1.5 million on renovation
