Ever since LHL Take over as PM, you can see he just create mess and now slowly snow ball and one by one major flaws coming....

i suspect smrt ceo cut corners on maintenance
when he said dont want to 'over-maintenance'
an axle box fall out of the train
it must have been left uncheck/unmaintain for a long time
either all the screws holding the axle all rusted ad break off the train or someone forgot to screw back the box

He is fortunate that it broke down in West West areas which is not so populated and many jobs are created in Jurong and Buona Vista. If this were to occur in the East where most people work in CBD, it will be Hell. And BTW, what are they doing with Changi Expo area?

ex-transport minister Iswaran should be partly blamed for this breakdown as he has spent his time on free expensive things instead of on SMRT.
