🇨🇳 China successfully test fire an ICBM against target 12,000km away. - Manthink - 27-09-2024

The 东风-31 (DF-31AG)  mobile ICBM was launched from Hainan province in South China Sea on 25 Sep to reach a target in the far end of  South Pacific.

The Chinese had deployed its space monitoring ship WangYang-5 in the area to track the missile flight and results.

The missile flight time was under 30 minutes.

US tested its own Minuteman-3 ICBM lasts Nov and it failed.

Pentagon explained it was due to "post launch anomaly" aka weapon didn't work.

The DF-31AG, which was widely assumed to be used on the 25 Sep test, is NOT China's newest nor most powerful ICBM.

The purpose of this firing test is more of a political message to US be showing the PLA has option to reach targets anywhere on this Planet.

It is not unlike what the Chinese had already proven in 2021 with Hypersonic missile test that circled the Earth.

Really no big deal ah? I thought the purpose of ICBM is for nuke delivery and not sending a hammer or an axe to US. Who would be so stupid to use ICBM for such delivery instead of using postal service or DHL.

What makes it even funnier is that the Americans FAILED in their ICBM test.  US naval bases in Okinawa and Guam are in immediate danger if the Yankees strike China first.
