Question on debit card - [[ForeverAlone]] - 16-10-2024
let's say going to expire and bank send you new debit card ask you to activate but you never still can continue use the old debit card to pay ?

Yes until the expiry date. Logically thinking of course. Have always activated the new card.

CR CARDS N DEBIT CARDS EXP DATES ARE DIFF FROM FOOD STUFF N DRINKS
BOTH CARDS EXP CANT BE USED
BUY FOR F&B STILL CAN CONSUME IF EXP DATES NOT TOO FAR OFF.

I activated my new debit card a few months before expiry, but I forgot to update it in my McDonald's app. As a result, I unknowingly used my old debit card to make a payment. The app showed a successful transaction, but a few days later, I received a text saying the payment was canceled. So, I ended up getting McDonald's for free!

I was thinking Since Govt keep mention blah blah recycle , global climate , etc Why Bank every 5 years need to change our debit card? Ok Of course if kena scammer , hacker using it of course you faster call bank tell them to cancel this card and send a new one.
But lets say you never encounter any , but bank every 5 years send you a new debit card. I mean actually is for safeguard purpose?

Do you check your balance? MCD perhaps already deduct your balance. I know after you pay, usually still on pending. Means the money still on hold haven't go to MCD side.
Nevertheless I ya you can't " cheat MCD " on this rah. They know and will deduct from your balance end of the day.
There is Once , I walk in order a set meal. I end up getting the signature beef burger which I never order when I reach home open up and see. LOL

They can't process the deduction until I update my new payment information. Even after I've made the updates in their apps, I will still need to place an order before they can properly deduct the previous amount owed!

Last time, all credit cards are for validity of 2 years, then they changed to 5 years
The reason is simple, you need to prove your creditability but then every bank wants to retain customers, as banks make money only when it loans out money and collect interest, so they relax
Going green is not their main objective, creditability of its customer base is, but of course customer acquisition is also their priority
