You are lying in bed drifting off to sleep when you suddenly feel like something is pressing you down, someone is in your bedroom, fear overcomes you or you are unable to speak. Has anyone experienced sleep paralysis?

First, check your sleeping position is correct before jumping to conclusion.
Never sleep in the position when your sleeping position is parallel to North and South poles.
The Earth Magnetic field will affect your sleep quality.

Yes, when I was young living in the other small HDB
I could feel myself drifting into the kitchen
But no more after my parents bought another unit near the sea

I used to get sleep paralysis regularly many years ago when I was in NS and after studying past midnight while in NS. I don't know if it was due to irregular sleeping hours or fatigue which triggered this more often. I was rather afraid initially, but after reading about sleep paralysis, I just closed my eyes and wait for my "frozen" state be released after a few minutes. Thankfully, it hasn't happened for the past decade.

Before I read up on sleep paralysis, it felt like a ghost or evil spirit was trying to take possession of my body. I tried to move, shout and snap myself out of that frozen state, but was powerless to control my own body.
