An open letter to Lawrence Wong:
You must understand that election is an examination of the government of the day. It’s not about securing a mandate or an emphatic victory.
The vote is the prerogative of the democratic citizen. Incumbents must accept criticism from the people. Be it pro or against. The people are the rightful masters of both Parliament and the Courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men and women who pervert the Constitution.
The PAP government helmed by Lee Hsien Loong has since deteriorated into a Third World country. He put too much emphasis on meritocracy. Scholars are only book smart and unable to think out of the box. These people have totally lost their common touch while walking with the kings.
The PAP has soiled the word elite. People say the word as if it was a curse or a sin, hating on a class of people who have always and always rule human society. The elites are the politically and economically powerful, the rulers of society. The oligarchy sits atop the social ladder, makes the rules and masterminds the political game.
Lawrence Wong, this is your maiden campaign since taking office. For the sake and progress of Singapore and Singaporeans, you have to change this narrow mindset of the PAP. Do not write off the people who are in the opposition.
