really need " maintenance " so much? I literally see daily got road works like Never end one. I see other BIG countries like Japan, Taiwan, even China their cities. Of course they have road works but like our side is " over done or ? "
actually I see sometimes partly also due to too many construction. Like myside. I can't recall How many times they dig the road lay pipes etc for the new BTO beside the main road. Cover back later just few months dig again lay some stuffs, cover again. Later repeat another few months Dig again than later cover repaint the road.

You guys very imaginative, already can do so much projections with a clarified fake news.
Be fair, inflation is everywhere and happens every year (you generally will get deflation during recessions, you like that?). Every country will complain their own costs of living and think it's unfair, especially if you stay in cities.
It's actually easy to reduce your costs of living to minimum, just move to Pulau Ubin.
If you want to know whether we are doing ok, you need certain knowledge to read data, do comparisons and blab blab blab.....etc, it's bloody hard work to understand the real situation than to believe the fake news during elections and social media.
I myself actually believed our GST is very high, until I took the trouble to google.
