My downstairs Neighbour SACKED 4 Myanmar Maids . . . - Ola - 11-05-2025
in 15 MTHS but she is Expert in handling maids
because since she was 5 years old, her mother had started to have maids
and when she got married also all along hire Myanmar maids
** This is the 15th or 20th person ( Direct and Indirect) who complained about Myanmar Maids

She said the Myanmar people are trying to run out
even those with BAD Attitude running to Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore
To match maids with the right attitude and expectations is 1/50 or 1/60
#1. AND never hire those above 26 Years old.

#2. Never let excuses like they need more time to Adjust
because they become LAZY and can threaten Employers with " If I cannot, then Transfer me"
Many people go overseas to study at 16 or 18 YEARS OLD
Do not even need so much time to adjust

High chance of it are Fake
Because the serious cases write into MOM for further action

#4. Another neighbour said tht Myanmar maids in the Current Batch are very picky
a) If got elderly with medical problem, they will threaten employer
b) If got 2 children below 7 years old, they will act sick or sleep until 9am
c) If no young children or medical elderly but family of 4, they refuse to cook
d) If employer works at home, they always say "Don't know about this and that "
Been more than 1 YEAR, but MOM failed to tighten Myanmar maid problem?

Today saw her and chat with her again
She said only 2 TYPEs of Agencies; Good & Bad
Good can score 9/10 and Bad often score 2/10
Like she set criteria but BAD Agencies will say No or Don't have
And too lazy to manage expectations of maids
by telling lies that maids "need 3 weeks or 4 weeks to adapt"

Think it is getting more common to change maids if they are looking after elderly with medical problems. My own neighbour were forced to pay their Myanmar maid $700/ mth so that she does not ask for transfer. But is their maid that good?

My neighbour said that her Myanmar maid N
as compared to the past 10 or so she had since she was a child
is one of the worst, yet 30+ years old with 2 years completed contract
the previous Employer confirmed don't want to renew her contract
EH? 2 years duration means that maid N can do everything but don't want that maid N ?
My neighbour desperate cos she needs to work so hired maid N.

I saw my neighbour at the void deck yesterday and chatted for a few mins
where she said her previous lousy maid M was told that she will be released
but 1 week later, she found a new Employer and wants Transfer
We wonder how come MOM is so bad in managing this when no one called
to ask her for Character Reference?
