I think 787 should be OK since this is the first crash in 16 years since its first flight. So should not be a design issue.
Should not be a manufacturing issue too as the plane is 12 years old.

Could be maintenance. Unlikely to be birdstrike since there's no smoke from engine before crash.

279 - 241 = 38 persons on the ground died!
