What kind of average? Weighted, median, mode, simple average?
A nation where salary/wealth gap is small by measures such as gini coefficient the simple average is very very powerful display of consumption power. A nation where gini coefficient is huge, the simple average is just mathematical with little meaning.
You rather have a nation where everyone is earning 4k than a nation where the average is 5k but the bulk of population is earning 1k and maybe 1% of population is earning 3mil.

So gap seems close for many,
but also need to factor living cost too,
end result quite number of developed countries are not as wealthy as thought.

Sg diploma holder earns $5000, do you believe? Must be a joke.

It’s clearly a plot set up, as shown on the bottom right. Trying to make sinkies think we are good.

I assume most countries like Sg got bonus in some form.
Also Sg include employer CPF.
So many in Sg did not feel it what is stated above.

The key words are “after tax”, the income tax is high there. The figures shown are all in USD.

Western countries dunt have bonuses like 3-6 months but max a cheque of a few thousands of dollars if companies are doing well.

All counted as gross salary but I suppose bonus easier to cut

No worry.
We will overtake Switzerland when our ministers raise their salaries.
