Many already earned not enough for daily expenses.Contribution is adding burden to the worker unless there is a reasonable basic income a person or family's need are met before contribution.

Quote:Singapore sovereign wealth fund, GIC, on Saturday said it will cease investments of the
government’s funds into newly-issued Russian sovereign and central bank debt.

How much has GIC lost in Russia?

Give higher interest rate for the special and medisave account and more people will be willing to contribute for their retirement. Govt should give first $100k in SA at least 6% then there is incentive to help people retire with more money. Currently the interest is so low, because Temasek and GIC is keeping most of the ROI earned. Govt must be sincere in helping people and not just give lip service.

They should look into it holistically

If they have met the Minimum salary of SG

Or already under Wage Progression Model

Before effecting this change

Depends what is the minimum wage. Even when cost of living has been increasing many times over the decades , personal relief in the income tax never increase.,😅
They can increase anything that affecting their pocket and earnings anytime as they please .

The personal relief is $1000 and that is set how many decade ago. Things like this is archaic and yet they don't change.
