No way, most of the little brothers already joined NATO only left Georgia, Belarus and Ukraine.

Nope, the Soviets were weak then. Germans were able to take much of their territories but a few factors led to their loss:
1. Hitler's frequent intervention in his generals' decisions
2. Winter
3. Germany fighting on too many fronts
The Germans were tactically more superior even though they had fewer numbers.
