12 men charged accepted bribes in Shell losing $128 mio - Scythian - 15-04-2022
"A total of 12 men were charged in court on Thursday (14 April) for accepting bribes in relation to a heist which resulted in Shell losing at least $128 million in marine gasoil from its largest petrochemical production and export centre in Asia Pacific at Pulau Bukom.
The 12, all surveyors from surveying companies, were engaged by Shell to inspect the volume of oil loaded onto the vessels which Shell supplied oil to. However, they are said to have accepted bribes totalling at least US$213,000 (S$288,171) from 2014 to 2017, from former Shell employees who were key players in the misappropriation."
