There are many websites and 2 common type of scams
1) They rescue a kitty and after some time
Put it up for Adoption for a FEE $$
2) Their own pets
Need surgery and ask for money from the public

Some never show in depth how the funds been used.
Just show photo the cat now in vet, get bandage Ok that it, Claim " thanks for all the kind donors, the stray cat now recovering "
Some will gather funds to " sterilized stray cats in the community "
SO the question, they will pocket some funds so call " service charge for themselves ? "
Of course some will claim " Is ok , they need to fork out their time bring the cat go vet blah blah so they got pocket a bit of the donation funds is ok as for their transport fee blah blah "
Well I don't know is all up to individuals since is their own money how they wish to do with it.
The worst is never do any , they go scout around online to find the " same breed of that cat in vet , or etc , reuse post online fake that the donation been spend with so call " proof " using others photo " Provided you can spot that is fake, different cat .

give him medical care
