About time NEA/ Grace Foo set the law to put prices on the board.

Even in food courts, the cashier can count wrongly and over-charge.  My friend kena at Raffles City and was over- charged $2.40 for cai- png.

Nobody will be happy if the price charged is unreasonable.
At most not exceeding $7 given it is at a food court.

Day light robbery indeed.

RE: Jurong Point $15 for prata and drink - sgbuffett - 05-09-2021

Here is a photo of the restaurant. The price and menu is outside. If he does not like the price he should not have gone in.

This complaint is not valid. Problem could he can't read English.

If the stall overcharges without showing the prices , My thinking is we will be allowed to ask the stallholders to take back what you've ordered. (willing sellers willing buyers)

Yes, the price list is there, but, what are the listed prices? Do the prices tally with what the customer had posted?

RE: Jurong Point $15 for prata and drink - sclim - 05-09-2021

at hawker center likely
2x egg prata 1.8x2 = 3.6
tea c 1.3 = 1.3
mutton curry big = 5
total = 9.9
that is what i will pay for the meal.

but then that is a restaurant. so restaurant price one pay.
soon hawker price will also raise with all the covid disrruptions as business
risk is higher. hawker also need to charge more to recover some cost.

Something not right. Pull from the internet. It is likely the meat inside the curry.

Once I saw my India tenant come back he bought some indian food from that indian restuarant and he said he paid x dollars for it.

Next few days I went to that same indian restaurant to buy the exact same item that my india tenant bought from that indian shop but that indian shopowner charged more expensive for the exact same item.

I am chinese.

My tenant is a india-indian S pass holder working in an office job.

That shopowner is a local-indian, he is not india-indian
This is also called racism and Indian privilege?

RE: Jurong Point $15 for prata and drink - drgn - 05-09-2021

He should know the price before ordering. Foodcourt should be about $8-9.

some merchants charged what they can charged. maybe the discount was only given to the s-pass holder as indian merchant feel that is what he can afford to pay. to entice him to come back.
