RE: 22-year-old Sporean foodpanda rider builds AI chip that can steer his bicycle for him - klat - 05-09-2021 Actually you can also steer the bicycle by balancing your body on the bicycle, no need AI or PCB. If you want to to go left, just move your body to the left and the handle with rotate to the left and when you want to go right, move your body to the right. No need to use hands on the handlebar. Simple and easy. Normally AI needs powerful CPU and also consume lots of power. But mention AI, he can elevate himself higher. RE: 22-year-old Sporean foodpanda rider builds AI chip that can steer his bicycle for him - DCS17 - 05-09-2021 Wonder where you guys see there is a motor or pulley system controlled by the AI to steer left right? if you know how to cycle without holding the bar, u can already steer left right without the bar using body balancing. Nevertheless, good luck hor those think that pcb do wonders. RE: 22-year-old Sporean foodpanda rider builds AI chip that can steer his bicycle for him - Blasterlord2 - 05-09-2021 We've to take this kind of stories with a pinch of salt. It could be that the projects are done together with his engineer brother or father, with the bulk of effort coming from them. I mean, I could let my daughter in primary school tell the world she can do high tech stuff too and everyone will think she's a child prodigy. There's a saying among the engineers - anything less than 5 years of experience you're considered a novice, or entry level engineer. Having say that, if he did spend some amount of effort on these projects it's still applaudable. But don't make it sound like he's a genius. Even genius needs to put in tremendous amount of time to put together something, and this guy is only 22? RE: 22-year-old Sporean foodpanda rider builds AI chip that can steer his bicycle for him - Blasterlord2 - 05-09-2021 There a full set of Arduino code published by a duo, and just look at the amount of research that went into it. Do you seriously think that this 22-yr-old singlehandedly do this? https://kth.diva-portal.org/smash/get/diva2:1237256/FULLTEXT01.pdf RE: 22-year-old Sporean foodpanda rider builds AI chip that can steer his bicycle for him - WhatDoYouThink? - 06-09-2021 ![]() why reinvent the wheel when one can buy many such wonderful ml development boards with kendryte soc neural chip on it for only $50+? only thing to do is write the code to do machine vision learning. maybe that's what he did and the writer misunderstood and thought he developed the chip instead but if he really developed the chip at that age he is a genius RE: 22-year-old Sporean foodpanda rider builds AI chip that can steer his bicycle for him - p1acebo - 06-09-2021 He will be suitable to work for a ceca master in future ![]() RE: 22-year-old Sporean foodpanda rider builds AI chip that can steer his bicycle for him - sgbuffett - 06-09-2021 (06-09-2021, 12:13 AM)WhatDoYouThink? Wrote: I don't think he created an AI chip reported by the misleading news headlines. He programmed some.control algorithm onto a processor board. Why do you even need AI for this type of control algorithm? Even if you use AI you don't need an AI chip or GPU except on the most demanding problems. Still it is an interesting project and guy deserve credit for making it work but newspaper did not report accurately.
