A friend work at Sea. He is a intelligent guy and quite a nice person.
But sea culture can be ruthless. They can sack overseas team in mass if standard not met.

He migrated to Singapore in the 1990s. Dunno when he became citizen.
Additional Note: Sorry, it's his two co-founders that came to Singapore in the 1990s. He came later. Most probably in the 2000s.

Now he'a a billionaire, he's doing lots of charities , contribute large sums to charity n sponsoring socisl projects besides giving schlarships to bright locals .

i only interested whether they contributed anything to our citizen by large. they only give taxes to gov have no interest to me. we need a rich and benevolent rich man which help when we face hardships.

Think you got it the other way round, the wife is well to do herself and well connected. Forrest Li made the connection to Singapore (mainly Temasek) through the wife. And no, this is more of a story of Elite connections.
