According to Bundesbank President Nagel, the two most recent interest rate hikes by the European Central Bank were just the beginning. High inflation makes further rate hikes necessary - even after the next ECB meeting in October.
Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel has got the Germans in the mood for interest rates to continue to rise in the euro area. In his estimation, the European Central Bank will continue the course it recently started in a series of rate hikes - even after the next meeting of the ECB Council in October, when another significant rate hike is expected.
