I believe she is not pretending but possessed by demons posing as the Goddess.
The spiritual side of Singapore is very poor and many are carrying demons hosted on them.
Many find this as unscientific. I was at one of the cleansing session and the friend I was with who was perfectly normal suddenly started to move uncontrollably when the holy man came to him

Some conspiracy theorists will say these are paid actors and all that but I am sure my friend is not one. All these conspiracy theory is just trying to fit what we don't know into our rational world and mind ...but there are many things we don't know. Just that we are too arrogant to admit.
