Families in Tokyo to get monthly ¥5,000 per child to address falling birthrate - theold - 06-01-2023
The Tokyo metropolitan government plans to provide families in the capital with a monthly allowance of around 5,000 yen per child aged through 18 regardless of household income levels, as part of efforts to address the rapidly falling birthrate in Japan.

The Japanese government will give families up to 1 million yen ($7,670) per child if they opt to move out of Tokyo, according to multiple media reports.
The government was already offering 300,000 yen per child for families relocating to other parts of the country.
