5+1 has higher chance of winning, that's why the prize is lower. Can do a simple calculations:
1. Strike all 6:
P1 = 1/c(49, 6)
2. Strike 5 + 1:
P2 = c(6, 5)×c(43, 1)/c(49, 6)
Look up for
c(6, 5)×c(43, 1) = 6x43 = 258
So p2 = 258 x p1

5+1 is also 6 numbers. Probability to get 6 numbers are the same.

So p2 = 258 x p1
You are saying that it's easier to strike 6 numbers?

Look at winning prize lor.
Higher means less probablity.

The probability of winning 6 numbers p1 is about 1/14m. For 5+1, p2 is about 258/14m.
Aiya, nvml. All you need is luck to win anything

it does not matter because your Toto ticket can be used for both of them.

Can be summarised as follows:
P6= (6,6)(1,0)(42, 0)/(49,6)
P5+1 = (6, 5)(1,1)(42, 0)/(49,6)
P5 = (6, 5)(1,0)(42, 1)/(49,6)
P4+1 = (6,4)(1, 1)(42, 1)/(49,6)
P4 = (6,4)(1,0)(42, 2)/(49,6)
If you observe the pattern, can derive others
