This allows Xiaomi to assemble parts to the car body in under 30 seconds, or about twice as fast as traditional automakers, the company claims. That strategy, Xiaomi says, allows it to be three times more efficient than if it employed only human workers. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/other/tesla-s-chinese-rival-xiaomi-has-already-built-10-000-su7-electric-sedans/ar-AA1nSxCM Update Mar 2024: Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said the standard version of the SU7 will sell for 215,900 yuan ($30,408) in the country — a price he acknowledged would mean the company was selling each car at a loss. Tesla’s Model 3 starts at 245,900 yuan in China. Lei claimed the standard version of the SU7 beat the Model 3 on more than 90% of its specifications, except on two aspects that he said it might take Xiaomi at least three to five years to catch up with Tesla on. He also said the SU7 had a minimum driving range of 700 kilometers (nearly 435 miles) versus the Model 3′s 606 kilometers. The company said orders had exceeded 50,000 cars in the 27 minutes since sales started at 10 p.m. Beijing time Thursday. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-68672192 Update Feb 2024: ![]() https://cnevpost.com/2024/02/27/xiaomi-su7-to-start-deliveries-q2/ https://news.cqnews.net/1/detail/1190049681446617088/web/content_1190049681446617088.html Update Jan 2024: ![]() https://cnevpost.com/2024/02/27/xiaomi-su7-to-start-deliveries-q2/ Chew was the CFO of Beijing-based coy before he join TikTok. Before the September quarter, the company had posted a sales decline in every three-month period since 2021. Now, it is seeking to challenge not just other EV makers but also newer entrants like Huawei Technologies in an arena where it has shown little unique expertise. Xiaomi’s EV foray is a US$10 billion (S$13.2 billion) wager by CEO and co-founder Lei Jun that his company can shake up the transport sector much as it did smartphones a decade ago. Mr Lei said he had driven 150 different cars since committing to making the SU7. https://www.straitstimes.com/business/companies-markets/xiaomi-launches-its-first-ev-with-ambition-to-be-china-s-porsche-or-tesla RE: Xiaomi's 1st EV to start deliveries as soon as Q2 2024 - Manthink - 28-02-2024 27 Feb 2024 现在,小米SU7上市时间疑似已经确定,这款新型电动汽车预计最早将于今年第二季度正式交付,标志着小米在智能出行领域的全新篇章即将开启。 https://www.kejixun.com/article/632860.html RE: Xiaomi's 1st EV to start deliveries as soon as Q2 2024 - grotesqueness - 28-02-2024 RE: Xiaomi's 1st EV to start deliveries as soon as Q2 2024 - sgbuffett - 28-02-2024 EV business is a competitive one burning lots of cash to get market share.
