Not all things will go according to plan even if executed properly. There are many variables.

The plan was a quick ops including into the president place to capture but this fail miserably which explains the ongoing Ukraine war we see today. The botched ops should be a case study for future military leaders including Spore commanders. KL look near but don't underestimate their capabilities.
