For big countries with few natural disasters that can damage the plants,
nuclear power could be an option
One two mid scale should be alright, none is overdone.

Using coal to generate electricity is the most polluted means of atmospheric pollution, it causes haze............the next alternative of a cleaner fossil fuel is oil......but crude oil is a limited source and can be depleted with time............. Big Grin

Really don't understand Germans today...After Nordstream pipe kenna blown up, sanctioning cheap Russian oil...It is like watching a once-prosperous industrialised European power house committing Hara-kiri

PARIS: French nuclear power is “an absolute red line” and non-negotiable, Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said Thursday, following Franco-German disagreements over the role of nuclear energy in Europe.

Nuclear-reliant Paris has already irked Berlin by insisting on giving nuclear energy a starring role in European plans to produce more green technology in Europe.

“Nuclear power is an absolute red line for France, and France will not relinquish any of the competitive advantages linked to nuclear energy”, Le Maire insisted as he closed the annual conference of the French Electricity Union.
