Govt has done a bad job of managing scams - Blasterlord2 - 10-05-2023

There are some things they could do, for example, by telling us how certain scams are carried out.

Until now, I'm not sure how scanning a QR code could take away tens of thousands of dollors away from a person. Maybe this could be done but it makes use of certain loopholes. Tell us what are those loopholes.

Also, tell us why certain purchase no need 2-factor authentication. Is it because vendor choose not to have this feature?

Serious lack of info is causing panic in everyone.

I hold this govt partially accountable for this.

China scammers know singaporean v rich mah..thats why

RE: Govt has done a bad job of managing scams - sgbuffett - 12-05-2023

Every scammer knows Singapore is a place to come to because govt takes a hands off approach....

Recently so manh scams compared with other countries...why? Because new bank transfers implemented without physical token, etc

Why Lehman minibonds so many Singaporeans lost money but not a single person lost 1 cent in Malaysia? Because Malaysian regulators were awake and disallowed it.

Our open leg policy is well known to the whole world. We also attracted lots of Scam Talents.

Are we considered a first world country? If so, Why our country is so lapse in control? MAS shd step in to enforced stricter regulatory laws on local banks to shore-up their responsibilities and protections for customers, instead of evading accountabilities.

To be fair, idea is not thought up by her. Ministers never have to think of new ideas. In fact, solutions are not provided by them either.

That is after the crime has been committed. The public needs to know the tricks of the scammers so that we can prevent ourselves from being scammed.
