Radiation doesn't kill straight away.

It only gives rise to cancer or illnesses later on.

True…but instead of killing Japanese troops, the U.S. had killed 260k civilians instantly and many more died later on from cancer. There were no bodies left after the cities were nuked, bodies vaporised to the air…very cruel …these survived got kimono flower patterns craved to the skin.
