After the girl reported this incident to the ROC representative in the U.S. and they gave her a lawyer’s contact number instead of bringing the case to the authority.

Very simple skin color different. Despite now is year 2023 but in a lot of ppl mind skin color still matters only whether it is explicitly expressed out or not. So best to stick with same color skin ppl for protection IMHO.
