Killing dialects has chipped of a part of our culture. There are many expressions that cannot never be achieved by Mandarin. I have sacrificed my dialect as such my children cannot speak it,

so can u guys see how MUCH our older folks have been deprived not knowing and understanding what the helll people are saying on TV?
taking dialect away was and is a big mistake which has destroyed our identity, absolutely.
no wonder they hv no idea or inkling whats happening!
