Ukraine must not give up to protect their sovereignty against the invaders and aggressors. Many countries hv boost their morale and fighting spirits. Show Russia that small country cannot be bullied easily.

US official on timing of cluster munitions' use in Ukraine: Russia will be "the first to know"

US-supplied cluster munitions got into Ukraine so quickly because they were already prepositioned in Europe, a US official told CNN.
Now that the munitions are in Ukraine, when will they be used? “We’ve made a decision to let the Russians be the first to know,” the official said.
The Pentagon confirmed Thursday the weapons were in Ukraine, after a Ukrainian commander told CNN

On the battlefield: Russia is "investing everything" to stop Ukrainian forces on southern and eastern front, according to Ukrainian President Zelensky. It's difficult to measure which side currently holds the upper hand in the absence of significant territorial gains by either, according to one analyst.
A Ukrainian commander in the south, Brig. Gen. Oleksandr Tarnavsky, said that his troops were putting the pressure on Moscow's forces and destroying equipment. In the east, a Ukrainian military spokesperson said Kyiv's forces are storming the positions of Russian troops near Bakhmut. And a bit further north, Russia seems to be renewing firepower between the towns of Lyman and Kupyansk.

Putin is yet to decide if Russia will renew the grain deal - expiring late on Monday - that allowed the resumption of Ukrainian exports through the Black Sea, temporarily halted when the invasion began in February 2022.
Ukraine last month began its highly anticipated fightback after building up its offensive forces difficult battles and called US and other allies to provide long-range weapons and artillery.
Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Ganna Malyar said "the situation has somewhat intensified in the east"."For 2-days in a row, enemy has been actively attacking in Kupiansk sector in the Kharkiv region. We are on the defence," Malyar wrote on Telegram.
She nevertheless said Ukrainian forces were "gradually moving forward" near the eastern city of Bakhmut.

The Ukrainian president, Zelenskiy, paid tribute to the lives lost in the MH17 incident, where Malaysia Airlines flight 17 was brought down over eastern Ukraine. The flight was on its way from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on 17 July 2014.
Zelenskiy tweeted:
Our thoughts and hearts are with the families and loved ones of each and every one of the 298 victims. This tragedy caused by the aggressor will never be forgotten.
A Dutch-led joint investigation team (JIT) concluded in May 2018 that the missile system belonged to a Russian brigade, and Australia and the Netherlands announced they are holding Russia responsible for downing the aircraft.
All 283 passengers and 15 crew were killed. Russia has denied any involvement.

Germany continues to appeal to Russia to extent the Black Sea grain deal Ukraine possible, a govt in Berlin said on Monday. Asked at a regular news conference about blasts on the Kerch Bridge, the spokesperson said Berlin did not comment on individual developments in the war.
Earlier on Monday, Russia said it had halted participation in the UN-brokered grain deal but that this had nothing to do with the blasts, which Moscow called a Ukrainian terrorist attack.
France’s Légion d’Honneur from the French ambassador to Ukraine on Friday. “On the first combat mission after our return, during the landing, we came under artillery fire. Bradley saved our lives again. Three wounded, mostly shrapnel,” Sentsov wrote on Facebook today, referring to a US Bradley infantry fighting vehicle.

The pocket-sized drones are suitable for operations in global positioning system-denied environments and are useful in transmitting live visible and thermal videos, Reuters reports.
The company had last year struck a four-year deal with Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency to deliver these nano unmanned aerial vehicles for around $48m (£37m).
Norway had donated nearly 300 Black Hornet systems to Ukraine forces in 2022 through the UK-led International Fund for Ukraine, the company said

The first phase of Ukraine’s counteroffensive to recapture Russian-occupied territory began weeks ago without fanfare. Apart from claiming that its troops are edging forward, Kyiv has not offered much detail on how it’s going.
Mostly out of sight of impartial observers, fighting in eastern and southern Ukraine pits troops equipped with new Western-supplied weapons against Kremlin forces that spent months digging formidable defenses and honing tactics.

Tamila Tasheva, President Volodymyr Zelensky's permanent representative for Crimea, told Newsweek on July 16 that Ukraine will have to deal with an estimated 500,000 to 800,000 Russian citizens who came illegally to Crimea after annexation.
According to Tasheva, those who do not leave before the liberation of the peninsula will be faced with "forced expulsion."
Tasheva says Kyiv may also punish as many as 10,000 Ukrainians on the peninsula for cooperating with Russian occupation authorities.

Ukrainian officials are maintaining their customary ambiguity about the latest attack on the Kerch bridge, but its location and strategic significance mean it was always likely to come under renewed assault. Kyiv's counter-offensive aiming to deal a decisive blow to Russian forces occupying southern Ukraine, the bridge is a key target.
There aren't many ways for Moscow to reinforce its troops in Crimea and the southern Kherson region.
Kerch bridge is one of the most important hated symbol for Ukraine folks.
