I wonder why cannot ask the waiter/waitress estimated how much before confirm the order? Is it scared lose face so dare not ask? No ask eat shiok shiok then bill come shell shocked?

Last time near casino restaurant also same the official reply why waiter/waitress never politely inform the patrons the estimated cost is scared wound the pride and face of the patron. After all they could have big winning inside casino opposite so come restaurant celebrate sure can afford?
