The ABS has also stated that registration for SGQR is free. However, PayNow transactional charges and printing charges for SGQR labels may vary depending on the bank.

This is why SG still cannot go cash free. The banks are always trying to milk the retailers who pass the cost on to consumers.

Must pay lah. I remembered watching a mediacorpse program during covid time. Josephine encouraged the hawker stall to use cashless payment. The stallholder complained that each transaction need to pay the bank 20 cents.

It seems that any new initiatives driven by this Govt costs more and unsecure. In fact, the stall holders commented that the online platform cost of additional 50 cents are also borne by the online consumers.
