Mate 60 series could use PA (power amplifier) chips manufactured by Chinese chip makers for Tiantong-1 satellite mobile communication system.

This satellite has functions such as voice communication, image transmission, positioning, and data reporting. It can set up satellite Internet of Things to realize real-time monitoring and equipment. Conveniences such as inspections and emergency rescues reduce the operation and maintenance costs of the power transmission and transformation process.

The satellite call feature in devices requires PA chips, which are now launched with Huawei Mate X3 and P60 series. However, both of these phones support two-way satellite communication SMS.

Satellite voice call will be a nice feature to have, but Beidou SMS will be much more useful imo as it means life and death when one is lost in the wilderness or ocean.

Also I agree with the vlogger below on the reason for this sudden and unexpected release of Mate 60 Pro, which is to show US that their tech sanctions will be futile.
Mate 60 Pro now has a Made-in-China 5G capability, which means Huawei or other phone manufacturers will no longer be at the mercy of Qualcomm or the US gov.

Besides being a 5G phone, this Made in China Kirin 9000s is supposedly faster than the 5nm Kirin 9000 CPU (released in 2020).
This is very impressive, considering China fabs are still relying on DUV litho machines and Huawei still manages to squeeze out such a good performance.
Huawei chips will run even faster once a China-made EUV machine comes online to allow 5nm or smaller wafer manufacturing.
