If you're just joining us, a Thai airport official has confirmed that a 73-year-old British man has died on a Singapore Airlines flight from London that was hit by severe turbulence.
Thirty people were injured, including seven critically.
The Singapore-bound SQ321 was carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew members. It was diverted to Bangkok and made an emergency landing at 3.45pm local time.
Passengers said the aircraft suddenly dropped, with images on social media showing the chaotic aftermath. Items were scattered on the ground and parts of the Boeing plane's interior appeared damaged.

The passenger likely died because of a heart attack, said Mr Kittikachorn, the airport GM. The seven people who were critically injured sustained head injuries, he added. One crew member was also hospitalised.
