Minister's Tong's reply just won him a vote in the coming GE.

The WP leader wants Singaporeans to forget their roots and ignorant of how we came together regardless of Language, Race or Religion in Aug 1965....years before english as a "1st language" were imposed upon Singaporeans in the name of equality and harmony.

Today, we can see the English-language is no magic key to a workable multiculturalism......just look at other English-speaking nations like UK to US today.

The irony is by Pritam pushing for Mono-lingual as measurement of citizenship, he has created an unintended outcome - the reversal of our delicate social compact that has kept Singaporean united for over 50 years.
