Chancellor Karl Nehammer spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday after talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and UN Secretary-General António Guterres . Putin has indicated that exports via seaports will be allowed. Prisoner exchanges could possibly be negotiated again. The conversation was "serious and intense".

Pro-Russian separatists from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic said on Friday that they had taken control of the strategically important city of Lyman in eastern Ukraine. They also threatened to kill three captured foreigners.
