mRNA vaccine decreased significantly during the omicron wave in adolescents.

The children who were initially vaccinated with the original vaccine at an even lower dose were also largely unprotected.

According to the study, the vaccination achieved a protective effect of 49.6 percent immediately after the second dose.

A month later, however, it had dropped significantly and after 3 months it was only a non-significant 11.0 percent. A protective effect of 46.3 percent was achieved for children aged 5 to 7 years.

For children aged 8 to 11, it was only a non-significant 16.6 percent.

The study leaders conclude that the dosage of the vaccine in this age group was not sufficient to build up effective immune protection against the background of the omicron variants.

Is there really a need for a second booster dose for healthy adults? I think too much of a “good thing” may actually be bad instead.

Not taking until it is made “mandatory” Big Grin
