I believe some Chinese phrase are direct translation from say Hokkien Cantonese mix with Malay etc. That is why when China born ppl come Spore they find some of our used phrase funny.

打包_百度百科 到餐馆点餐后，不就地用餐而是带走吃。 或是将吃不完的食物，用饭盒装好带走。 后来，衍生出装箱子，将东西带走的意思。
