there is a few things that is not said right.

1. singapore first natural resources is the deep port harbour in a strategic location. that is still the same today.
2. singapore is a major storage location. like oil. and many other materials.
3. singapore people. although is an asset and a liabiities. singapore government good works of constantly developing the people abilities has made it more of an asset.
etc. patent, innovation etc are also our developed asset.

60% foreign buyer duty does not necessary block all from buying. for those who intent to anchor here long term . it is just a tax they pay. the return they get is no worry about long term rental and it is an asset safe from their home country nationalisation. singpaore abolished inheritance tax on 15 feb 2008. this is plus plus factor as in some countries inheritance tax is very high.

raising the investment level to 10m is reasonable. as many singaporean are already millionaires. no point to get more of the same wealth level.
many other benefits like good health care, education, water, air quality, safe environment will ocntinue to attracts those really rich.

singapore is still very open. beside money, people can also come here base on skill. and there are no lack of these in the world. just the island cannot take in so many.
