My elderly mother is more tech savvy than most of her peers in their 80s, but she still finds comfort seeing her monthly credit card statements in hard copy and having her POSB bank book, so she knows that her cash balance is healthy and still there!

Almost all the stallholders I patronise have a "bell alert" when my PayNow goes through so they know when payment is made.

I still carry some cash in my wallet these days because there are hawkers who refuse to accept cashless payment. At times, I actually find it more convenient to pay in cash instead of fumbling with my phone while my food is being placed on the tray, and impatient customers behind me start grumbling when the payment app takes a while to load.

Smile I still prefer use Cash to buy hawker foods. Even provision shop.

Only cashless is online shopping.

Summary Cash is King.

Actually Smart hawker will not go digital because hehe Govt can more easily know how much they earn thus = TAX
