Looks like China learn alot from Singapore MRT system which was build in 1987....
They always say the slowest country to adopt subway will have to best and newest system because once it is in place it cannot be dismantled as it operates daily. There can only be incremental upgrades.
So if one looks at old subways in London and Paris where the people enjoy subway for 150yrs already.

I went to Taipei q few years ago the train and station also look newer than ours mainly because it was built later.
I think Africa will have the best subways because they will be among the last places to build and likely they will contract China and use latest technology and design.
