She let them all down.
Today, such a protest calling on her to live up to her ideas is not even possible in China which is now ruled with iron fist.

You use the words "iron fists". It is so unless Chinese people doesn't accept it.
Harvard university ever had studied of popularity rate. Their conclusion over many years if study was the support rate ranged from 80 to as high as 94%.
Biden and many of previous Presidents had hardly that kind of support rate.
