They might not have developed the tolerance for eating cockles aka see hum in Singapore, which are not fully cooked.

I know some peepru want their cookies to be medium rare. Cockles have a rubbery and tough texture if fully cooked and they don't like that.

Cockles which are not fully cooked have toxins that will lead to food poisoning and cause diarrhea and in some cases, even death.

An old friend of mine was a professional who worked at a time when the term IT was not coined yet and we said CS or Computer Science. He worked with magnetic tapes as backup media, not 4TB thumb drives. He died from eating a dish now not widely seen or seen at all. Raw cockles. A whole plate of it...he would just whack.
