Xiamen is a beautiful city with nice food and beaches, the streets look like Spore or Msia due to the influence from Malaya in the past…I want to visit there one day.

Learn a lot on the origin of certain words/terms. 

Such as the English word 'tea' comes from the Hokkien character 'teh'. 

Like why Chinese called satay "sha cha" (but in Hokkien it is sha teh which is closer to satay in pronunciation, the Chinese pronunciation is just the Mandarin version of the Hokkien characters "sha teh").  And that satay came to Fujian 3 centuries ago by returning Chinese from South-east Asia.

And the hokkien word for "money" is lui which is based on the Malay word "duit".
