On 4 Feb when Putin attended Winter Olympic in Beijing, China-Russia signed agreement to use Euro + also RMB and Ruble for oil trading EU happy, super happy.  

So, you think EU will really sanction Russia?   

EU will just wayang2 a bit. Just like Germany support Ukraine with helmets, not weapons.   

US wanted to kick Russia out of US$ system, EU of course support so that Russia will use more Euro.
