Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has informed the Clerk of Parliament that he intends to nominate Seah Kian Peng for reelection as Speaker when the 15th Parliament meets on Sept 5.
PM Wong has also designated Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Finance and National Development Indranee Rajah as Leader of the House - a role she held in the 14th Parliament. Senior Minister of State for Defence and Sustainability and the Environment Zaqy Mohamad will also remain as the Deputy Leader.
