According to the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, Americans have the right to bear arms for their own protection. The Supreme Court holds that the protection of the Second Amendment, to keep and bear arms for self-defense in a person's home, applies against state govts and their political sub-divisions. Unfortunately, with such laws in place, it is obvious that firearms seem to used more to murder and commit robberies than for one's protection.
